He is an award-winning journalist who has been writing about legal issues for the past two decades. His work includes groundbreaking coverage of LGBTQ issues, the criminal legal system, and other complex legal and political questions. Chris previously worked as the Supreme Court correspondent and legal editor at BuzzFeed News, as well as for the Appeal and Metro Weekly. During that time, Chris was named the Journalist of the Year in 2014 by NLGJA, the nation's LGBTQ journalists' association, among other recognition. He most recently was a columnist for MSNBC. Chris earlier practiced law in Columbus, Ohio, and blogged at Law Dork. While in law school, Chris was editor-in-chief of the Ohio State Law Journal.
